The Best Ergonomic Office Chairs

Office Depot ergonomic chairs, filtered by your body and desk so you only see chairs that actually fit. Tap any chair for its specs and who it’s good for.

You need a new ergonomic chair if your current chair lacks recline-and-height adjustment, has no adjustable lumbar support, won’t roll smoothly under load, or forces you to sit toward the front edge instead of fully back against the backrest. Any of those means the chair is loading your spine rather than supporting it.

Ergonomic Chair FAQ

If your current chair lacks recline-and-height adjustment, has no adjustable lumbar support, makes you sit toward the front edge, or won’t roll smoothly, it’s loading your spine instead of supporting it. Any of those is reason to replace it.
Enter your height, weight, and desk height. The filter runs them through the Desk Doctor Chair Selector Table to derive a target seat height and seat depth for your body at that desk, then shows only chairs whose adjustment range can reach those numbers. If your desk height is unworkable for your height, it flags that first.
Useful mainly if you recline often or have ongoing neck symptoms. Otherwise it adds cost without much benefit. Toggle the headrest filter if it matters to you.
Some chairs come in size variants (A / B / C). Pick the size whose seat-depth range matches your buttock-to-knee length most closely — that dimension matters more than seat-height range, which is usually adjustable enough on its own.
Products supplied through our Office Depot partnership. Selections drawn from the same clinical methodology as the Desk Doctor assessment — CAESAR anthropometric data, ANSI/HFES 100-2007, and BIFMA G1-2013.
