The Best Ergonomic Keyboards

Office Depot ergonomic keyboards matched to your symptoms by the Desk Doctor assessment algorithm. Tap any keyboard for its specs and who it’s good for.

You need an ergonomic keyboard if your wrists bend sideways to reach the home row of a flat keyboard, your forearms feel tense while typing, or you have wrist or elbow strain that hasn’t responded to fixing your desk height and chair. The keyboard sits at the bottom of a comfort ladder — the right step depends on how severe your symptoms are.

Ergonomic Keyboard FAQ

If you have ongoing wrist or elbow strain at work, or you notice your wrists bending sideways to reach the home row on a flat keyboard. The right step on the ladder depends on the severity of your symptoms — the filter above maps it for you.
It mirrors the Desk Doctor assessment. Your wrist and elbow symptoms place you on a tier scale, which maps to an eligible set of keyboard styles — from gentle (Standard Ergo / Wave) for mild symptoms up to Advanced Split for severe ones. The filter then narrows further by size and palm support.
Expect a one-to-two-week adjustment period before speed returns, especially with split layouts. For people with real symptoms the posture gain is worth it — but don’t jump to a split if a gentler shape would do.
It’s fine to step up gradually. The filter shows you the most aggressive style your symptoms support, but any milder style in the eligible set is also valid — you can always upgrade later if symptoms don’t improve.
